Tennis: Guerin Catholic gets conference victory

The Guerin Catholic boys tennis team beat Heritage Christian 4-1 Thursday for a Circle City Conference victory.
The Golden Eagles’ victories included a win for Thomas Darland at No. 3 singles, and a 6-2, 6-3 win for freshman John Tiplick at No. 2 singles in his first-ever varsity match.
Guerin won the junior varsity meet 5-1.
Guerin Catholic is now 6-5 and hosts Cardinal Ritter on Saturday.

Top-ranked Carmel swept past No. 13 Park Tudor 5-0 on Thursday.
The Greyhounds will play at the Zionsville Invitational this weekend, taking on Brownsburg, Zionsville and No. 3 Floyd Central.

Noblesville dropped a 5-0 Hoosier Crossroads Conference match to Brownsburg on Thursday.
The Millers doubles teams had outstanding performances against the Bulldogs, pushing them to third set super tiebreakers in both matches. No. 1 doubles Josh Middleton and Evan Voigt came back from a 6-4 first set loss to win the second set 6-4, then fell 10-5 in the tiebreak. No. 2 doubles Jonathan Maskew and Sean Vitales split 6-3 sets, then dropped the tiebreak 10-8.

Hamilton Heights fell to Alexandria 3-2 on Thursday.
The Huskies won both doubles matches, with No. 1 Josh Russell and Aiden Ray getting a 6-2, 6-1 victory and No. 2 Jake Martin and Erik Malott winning 7-5, 7-6 (4).
The Heights junior varsity won 7-2.
