Volleyball: Royals split at North vs. South, Shamrocks perfect at Yorktown

The Hamilton Southeastern volleyball team split a pair of matches at the North vs. South Showcase Saturday at Lawrence North.
In their first match, the Royals lost a tough four-setter to Providence 25-18, 25-15, 20-25, 25-22. Abby Weber led Southeastern with 12 kills, while Grace Hunter had eight kills and 15 digs. Delaney Garner put down nine kills. Carly Mills collected 19 digs and Lillian Leiner picked up 16 digs. Olivia Phillips dished out 18 assists.
The Royals won their second match of the day, easily beating Floyd Central 25-11, 25-10, 25-9. Garner and Weber both hit nine kills, with Garner also making four solo blocks. Mills had 17 digs.
Southeastern is back home Tuesday, hosting Harrison.

Westfield had a perfect day at the Yorktown Invitational on Saturday, winning all four of its matches.
The Shamrocks defeated Delta 25-13, 25-20; Concordia Lutheran 22-25, 25-17, 18-16 and Bellmont 25-13, 25-16 to finish first in their pool. In the crossover match, Westfield completed the perfect day with a win over Roncalli, 25-19, 25-22.
The ‘Rocks are back in action Wednesday at Perry Meridian.
