Learn about the Blackberry Expedition at Cicero Library’s Tuesdays with Friends

No, there’s not a caravan of electronic devices parading through Cicero. However, long before any smartphone, there was a Blackberry Expedition that very well may have passed through the area in the late 1700s.

Hamilton County Historian David Heighway will discuss the journey from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 10 at the next Tuesdays with Friends event at the Cicero branch of Hamilton North Public Library, 209 W. Brinton St., Cicero.

This Blackberry expedition took place during a 1791 militia campaign ordered by President Washington and led by General Charles Scott, who was accompanied by William Clark (of Lewis and Clark fame). But why read a bit about it when you can get the facts and background from the master storyteller himself?
