As Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS) began their school week on Monday, OfficeWorks pledged to overhaul and renovate the teachers’ lounge at James Russell Lowell School 51. Fishers-based OfficeWorks made the announcement at WISH-TV’s WishPATROL event in partnership with Teachers’ Treasures.

The morning was full of surprises. Several companies came together to gift the entire school, from students to teachers, necessities to make the school year a successful one. As Brooke Martin from WISH-TV hosted, more than 12 donations and surprises were revealed.

“Prior to designing the teachers’ lounge, I met with Principal Patrick Lumbley to understand his vision and goals as to what the renovation would do for the teachers,” said OfficeWorks CEO Tom O’Neil. “We know the space will be an energizing environment to foster collaboration and the recharging that needs to take place for teachers to be at their best.”

Principal Lumbley’s vision is to be a source of pride for students, teachers, families and the community, to “RESTORE THE ROAR,” as their school chant puts it. OfficeWorks is committed to helping School 51 see their vision through. For almost 35 years, OfficeWorks has been creating great places to work, learn and heal.

“Whether we are hosting a back-to-school drive or donating our expertise to a special cause, we know that by making continual impact, we are making a difference in the lives of others,” said O’Neil. “And that’s very important to us.”

Mr. David’s Flooring has donated flooring for the teachers’ lounge renovation as well. The renovations should be complete by the end of the month. Stay tuned for before and after pictures, and a feature on WISH-TV coming later this month.
