Join City of Carmel officials, Bub’s Burgers & Ice Cream and Gymboree for a celebration of the new sculpture at the roundabout that pays homage to children and their games – just in time for the start of the new school year.
The celebration will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 12 at the 126th Street and Gray Road roundabout.
This new sculpture is titled Stone Paper Scissors and is a bigger-than-life tribute to a favorite childhood game that has been used for ages by kids (and many adults) to settle arguments or simply have fun. This location was chosen, in part, due to its proximity to both an elementary and middle school located on 126th Street, ensuring consistent visibility by hundreds of kids every school day.
The sculpture, produced by the artist Kevin Box, will be situated in the middle of the roundabout, where it not only adds to the aesthetic value of the landscape, but also serves as a visual barrier to help keep the attention of motorists directed to the left as they enter the roundabout.
