The Indiana Swimming Senior State meet finished on Sunday, and Carmel Swim Club finished the meet strong.
Carmel won four of the 10 events that took place on Sunday, including a new meet record in the men’s 400 freestyle relay. The team of Jake Mitchell, Wyatt Davis, Griffin Hadley and Alec DeLong won that event in a time of 3 minutes, 27.41 seconds.
Carmel also won the women’s 400 free relay, with Gretchen Lueking, Kendra Bowen, Ashlyn Underhill and Kelly Pash participating in that event. Carmel’s other two wins came in a sweep of the 200 individual medley, with Pash taking the women’s race and Charles Vaughan first in the men’s race.
Tim Bennett of the Fishers Area Swimming Tigers won the men’s 100 butterfly. Keegan Streett of Southeastern Swim Club finished second in the men’s 200 free.
In the team standings, Carmel won the combined meet with 2,397 points, as well as the women’s meet with 1,435 points. Carmel placed second in the men’s meet by scoring 962 points.
