Three county golfers make top 10 at Indiana Amateur

The Indiana Amateur Championship took this week at Purgatory Golf Club in Noblesville.
Three Hamilton County golfers finished in the top 10. Carmel’s Kevin Stone tied for third place with a three-day, 54-hole score of 211, five under par. Stone moved himself up with a third-round score of 66, (six under), a round that included an eagle on the 13th hole. He also made six birdies in the third round and 14 for the tournament. Stone eagled the fifth hole in the first round.
Another Carmel golfer, Nick Dentino, tied for fifth with a four under 212. Fresh off his win at the IHSAA state finals, Dentino had 10 birdies for the tournament.
Fishers’ Austin Vukovits tied for 10th with a two-under par 214. Vukovits had 13 birdies for the event, including six in the first round, where he carded a three-under 69.
