The weekend weather forecast and concern for the public’s well-being has caused Noblesville city officials to postpone tonight’s opening concert of the Tribute Tour presented by Myers Construction Management Inc. at Federal Hill Commons.
“With the threat of thunderstorms, we made the decision to postpone our opening series event,” Noblesville Parks Director Brandon Bennett said. “We want audiences to be safe and have an enjoyable time when they attend any of our free parks events. The forecast of wet weather conditions would dampen everyone’s experience at our outdoor amphitheater.”
Several rounds of thunderstorms are expected this weekend, as a storm front stalls across Central Indiana. The National Weather Service says flooding is the main threat of these storms, but some storms may be strong to severe.
Officials are working with the bands to reschedule the show featuring Separate Ways, a Journey tribute band, and opener Fishers School of Rock at a later date this year. More information will be released when that date has been set.
Future dates of the Tribute Tour, which pays tribute to a specific artist or band, include:
- July 13 – Night Train (Guns N’ Roses) with Carmel School of Rock
- 10 – Southern Accents (Tom Petty) with Lightner Shaffer Duo
- 14 – Bobby Miller (Michael Jackson and Prince) with Groove Smash
