The school year is ending, and for some local students that means not only a break from classroom activities but also missing nutritious meals provided by the schools.
The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, along with other local law enforcement agencies, is partnering with Kroger stores to “Pack the Cruiser” and stock local food pantries for the summer to assist those in need. While Hamilton County is one of the most affluent counties in Indiana, there are still plenty of residents who don’t have enough to eat on a daily basis.
Deputies will be on hand at the Logan Street Kroger in Noblesville, or join other police departments at any Hamilton County Kroger store, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 1 as officers work to alleviate hunger throughout the county.
Shoppers will receive information on types of food products needed to fill the shelves of local food pantries. Cash and Kroger gift cards will also be accepted for future purchases by the food pantries.
Please consider joining local law enforcement agencies in this worthwhile cause for those in need in Hamilton County.
