Fishers made history on Saturday, as the Tigers won their first-ever IHSAA Unified Track sectional.
Noblesville hosted the sectional at the Millers’ Beaver Materials Field. It was a close competition between the top three schools, with Fishers coming out on top with 118 points. Warren Central finished second with 115 and Lawrence North was third with 112. All three schools advance to next Saturday’s regional at Kokomo.
“Very proud of our students today,” said Tigers coach Patrick Schooley. “Everybody threw and ran and jumped the way they should have. We had a lot of PRs today. It’s very important. We talk about it all the time about doing your best and try to PR everything that you do. Maximizing your points. Great team effort.”
Samuel Syrus had top finishes in the 100 dash and 400 dash, and Fishers also had the top finish in both the girls 4×100 relay (which consisted of Ariana Wills, Lindsey Dale, Kristyn Santiago and Elizabeth Maahs) and the boys 4×100 relay (the team of Joshua Ibey, Nathan Oman, Anthony Bishop and Anthony Valerio).
