Cops take to rooftops to raise ‘Special’ support

The annual “Cop on a Rooftop” event will take place from 5 a.m. to noon on Friday, May 17. Law enforcement officials will be stationed on rooftops at 16 participating Dunkin’ locations across the state of Indiana – doubling the number of participating locations from last year – collecting money for the Law Enforcement Torch Run to benefit Special Olympics Indiana.

This year’s Special Olympics Indiana fundraisers are aiming to surpass last year’s grand total of $10,884.

Special Olympics athletes and their families, plus representation from the Indianapolis Indians and Colts Cheerleaders, are among the special guests who will join law enforcement officials to show their support. In honor of Special Olympics athletes and the law enforcement officials participating in this annual event, Dunkin’ will donate $1,500 to the Law Enforcement Torch Run to benefit Special Olympics Indiana.

Each guest who makes a donation to the Torch Run will receive a free donut. The “Champion Donut” yeast rising donut with white icing and red drizzle will be available at participating Dunkin’ locations while supplies last.

Locally, police officers will be on the rooftop of the Dunkin’ location at 2560 E. 146th St., Carmel. For a full list of participating locations, please visit coponarooftop.com/Indiana.pdf.
