Softball: Noblesville gets big win at Tipton

Noblesville cruised to an 8-1 win Thursday at Tipton.
The Millers scored two runs in the second inning. Emily Minett hit a bunt single to score Alyssa Solomon, and Rylie Moore got home on Lauren DeRolf’s RBI groundout. Noblesville followed that up with three runs in the third inning: Chloe Tragesser doubled in Kyleigh Lowry, Moore hit a sacrifice fly to bring Tragesser home, and Minett batted in Solomon for the second time.
The Millers added two runs in the sixth when Lowry’s left field hit scored Minett and Abigail Harvey. Julia Furiak hit a home run into center field in the seventh inning.
Minett was 3-for-3 at the plate, while Tragesser and Furiak both had two hits. Maddie Taylor got the win, going four innings with six strikeouts and no hits.
Noblesville is 11-6 and plays at the Bishop Chatard Tournament on Saturday.
