The Hamilton Southeastern girls tennis team won the Mudsock Trophy for the sixth year in a row, beating Fishers 4-1 Friday at the Tigers’ courts.
All of the matches were decided in straight sets. The No. 14-ranked Royals swept the doubles matches, then got wins from No. 2 singles Adalyn De Witt and No. 3 singles Tea Vrkic to win their fourth dual meet in a row.
“It always feels good to win this,” said Southeastern coach Kirk Webber. “You know it’s always going to be a good match, a rivalry match. Fishers is a tough team. They’re a ranked team. Their courts, windy night, so we knew it was going to be tough.”
Lucy Loy got the No. 23 Tigers’ win at No. 1 singles, 6-4, 7-5.
