Carter Campassi, Hamilton Heights’ senior, has signed a letter of intent to play football for the Manchester University Spartans in Manchester, Indiana this fall. Manchester University is a member of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC). He is the son of Brian and Carrie Campassi.
“I felt at home at Manchester,” said Carter Campassi, a three-time football letter winner, two-time Leadership team member and member of the 700-pound Big 3 Club. The coaches made me feel like an important piece of their program and would provide me the opportunity to finish what I started.”
Campassi, who works at the Noblesville Boys and Girls Club, said he plans to study Sports Management. “My dream job after college would be a front office position for a professional football team,” he noted.
Campassi has been dedicated to excelling at the sport since he was five. “Hard work, practice, strength and conditioning, football camps and lots of time in the weight room has helped make this dream to play at the college level a reality,” he explained, crediting his dad and Isiah Campbell for being a major influence in his development as an athlete over the years. “I am greatly appreciative of my parents and the many individuals who supported and believed in me along the way. I wouldn’t the person I am today without them.”
“Carter has been a part of the Husky football program for four seasons,” said Jon Kirschner, Hamilton Heights Head Football Coach. “During his time at Heights he has been a consistent worker in the weight room in the off-season and just as hard of worker on the field as a quarterback. Carter has a true love for the game and this passion was one that had a positive influence on his teammates. He will take this passion and work ethic to the next level. The Husky Football program wishes Carter nothing, but the best at Manchester.”
“Carter has worked hard at the sport he loves, earning a letter in football the past three years,” said Kurt Ogden, Hamilton Heights Athletic Director. “He has provided some quality leadership as quarterback in the program and has been a leader for the younger kids, especially in the weight room. We are grateful that Carter gets an opportunity to continue his playing career at Manchester University and we wish him well along the journey.”
