University beat Shortridge 12-0 in five innings on Wednesday.
The Trailblazers scored a run in the top of the first inning, with Nate Shatkowski batting in Dawson Estep. University then added six more runs in the second, then finished with five runs in the fifth.
Estep scored three runs and stole five bases. Shatkowski batted in two runs, he also hit a sacrifice fly in the fifth inning, but wound up reaching base on an error. Tyler Galyean scored two runs, as did Matt Moore and Ethan Johnson.
Shatkowski also got the pitching win, striking out six in four innings and allowing just one hit.
The Trailblazers are 4-5-1 and will play a doubleheader with Seton Catholic on Saturday.

Golden Eagles fall to Brebeuf Jesuit
Guerin Catholic dropped a 5-2 Circle City Conference game to Brebeuf Jesuit Wednesday at the Golden Eagles’ field.
The Braves got on the board first with a two-run home run in the third inning. Guerin Catholic got one run back in the bottom of the third, when Wes Gingerich scored on Keenan Taylor’s RBI groundout.
Gingerich scored again in the fifth inning, getting home after a wild pitch. That tied the game at 2-2, but Brebeuf scored three runs in the seventh inning to get the win.
Max Engelking pitched four innings, striking out nine.
The Golden Eagles are 9-2 and host Cardinal Ritter on Saturday morning.

‘Hounds break away from Pike
Carmel overcame an early lead from Pike to run away from the Red Devils 16-6 in six innings in a Wednesday Metropolitan Conference game at Hartman Field.
Pike scored three runs in the top of the first inning, but the Greyhounds answered right away with three runs in the bottom of the first. Logan Urbanowski doubled in Drew Olssen, then Alex Brooks hit a double to score Urbanowski. Jackson Adams hit a sacrifice fly to send Brooks home.
A three-run home run put the Red Devils ahead 6-3 in the top of the second. Carmel got the lead back for good in the third inning: Brayden Lentz scored on a wild pitch, then Hunter Keip’s three-run double put the ‘Hounds up 7-6. Olssen scored Keip on a sacrifice fly, and Carmel cruised from there, scoring eight more runs in the final three innings of the game.
Brooks hit three doubles, driving in four runs and scoring three. Keip and Dryden Schroeder both hit one double, with Keip totaling three RBIs. Brandon Rosenfeld pitched three innings for the win.
The Greyhounds are 6-5 and will host Noblesville on Saturday afternoon.

Royals roll past Orioles
Hamilton Southeastern used a huge fifth inning to take control of its Wednesday Hoosier Crossroads Conference game with Avon, eventually winning 9-4 at Ken Seitz Field.
The Orioles scored a run in the top of the first, and the Royals answered with two runs in the bottom of the inning. Greyson Droste hit a two-RBI single to center field, sending Jake Huston and Matthew Buckingham home.
Avon took the lead back with two runs in the second inning, and one more in the fourth. But Southeastern ran away with the game in the fifth inning, scoring seven runs.
Cole DeWael led off the inning with a single, then Anthony Eggers and Huston were hit by pitches to load the bases. Buckingham sent them all home with a triple to center field, putting HSE in front 5-4.
Brayton Harrison’s right field hit scored Buckingham. After absorbing two out, Matt Iacobucci singled in Jake Stout, then DeWael was back at the plate, and his double brought home Michael Cherry and Iacobucci.
Droste and DeWael totaled two hits each. Tyler Schweitzer pitched six innings for the win, tossing eight strikeouts. Dylan Gray pitched a perfect seventh inning to close the game.
The Royals are 6-3 and play a doubleheader at Homestead on Saturday.
