HSE girls defend their Royal Relays title

The Hamilton Southeastern girls track and field team successfully defended the team championship at its own Royal Relays on Saturday.
Southeastern scored 117 points, with Warren Central second (105) and Fishers third (104). The Royals won five events, including a new meet record from Lulu Black in the 3200 run. Black’s time was 11:12.53.
Halle Hill won the 1600 run, with Tierra Sydnor finishing first in the 300 hurdles. The Royals also won two relays: The team of Ellie Pedersen, Lauren Johnson, Annice McFarland and Black took the distance medley relay, while Maddie Mirro, Jehnea Mirro, Pedersen and Hill were first in the 4×800 relay.
The Tigers had four runner-up finishes. Elizabeth Barrett placed second in the 1600 run, with Abby Carter second in the 3200. Fishers also got runner-up finishes from its 400 shuttle hurdles relay team of Gabby Lewis, Lauren Hege, Katie Folta and Arianna Kelly, and its 4×800 relay team of Brynn Urban, Lilia Bodnar, Megan Mybeck and Debbie Shera.
