Hamilton Southeastern dropped both games of a doubleheader with Kokomo Saturday at Ken Seitz Field.
The Wildkats beat the Royals 7-3 in the first game. Kokomo scored a run in the top of the first inning, but Southeastern tied it up in the second. Brayton Harrison scored on a fielder’s choice RBI from Caden Ruhnow.
Both teams added a run in the third inning; the Royals got their score when Greyson Droste singled in Jake Huston. The Wildkats scored three runs in the top of the fourth and held the lead from there. Southeastern scored again in the fifth inning when Huston scored on a fielder’s choice.
The Royals fell 9-3 in the second game. Kokomo scored three runs in the top of the first inning and never trailed. Southeastern scored twice in the third inning, which Matthew Buckingham led off by hitting a triple. Anthony Eggers batted him in with a left field hit. Droste singled in Eggers later in the inning.
The Royals’ third run came in the seventh inning, when Droste scored after Jake Stout drew a bases-loaded walk. Eggers, Droste and Cam Bolling all had two hits, including a fourth-inning double for Eggers.
Southeastern is 4-3 and returns to Hoosier Crossroads Conference play on Tuesday when it travels to Avon.
