Mayor Jim Brainard announced Friday he has appointed Carrie Holle, a Carmel business owner and Realtor in Carmel, to the Carmel Plan Commission for a four-year term.
The Carmel Plan Commission helps manage the city’s growth and development. It also helps the City Council develop and update city ordinances, the Comprehensive Plan, the Thoroughfare Plan and other long-range plans for housing, transportation, neighborhood development, parks, commercial development and public facilities. Nine voting members serve on the Carmel Plan Commission.
Holle graduated from Purdue University with a major in Broadcast Journalism. Since then she has worked as a residential Realtor in Carmel. In 2000, she opened a boutique real estate office, Highgarden Real Estate Carmel in the Arts and Design District. Along with owning and operating her real estate business, she also volunteers with Carmel Porchfest, serves as president of the parent association at Park Tudor and founded a nonprofit called Home with a Hug, which provides furnishings for underprivileged.
The Plan Commission meets at 6 p.m. on the third Tuesday of every month in the Chambers of City Hall. In addition, each member of the Plan Commission, except the president, is a part of either the Commercial or Residential Committee. These committees meet at 6 p.m. on the first Tuesday of every month in the Caucus rooms of City Hall.
