The Fishers girls lacrosse team picked up a big Hoosier Crossroads Conference win on Tuesday, beating Brownsburg 17-2.
Emily Guaspohl, Gracie Bicknell, Abigail Garrison and Anna Schnefke led the Tigers defense, which limited the Bulldogs’ opportunities with turnovers that led to 17 goals. Fishers’ midfield continued to score in bunches: Skylar Fulton had five goals and one assist, Nina Dilliard had four goals and one assist; and Mac Miller scored two goals. Stephanie Wright led the attack with two goals on three shots. Aleris Crum, Renata Garcia, and Sarah Peterson each score one goal.
On Saturday, the Fishers girls lacrosse team lost to undefeated Evansville North 15-5. The Tigers fell behind 9-1 at halftime before rallying in the second half, scoring four goals. Kelsey Bolin made 14 saves.
Fishers will host North Central at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
Carmel’s girls team beat Zionsville 12-10 on Monday.
Sarah Jackson scored four goals for the Greyhounds. The Carmel JV Blue team won 7-3.
Hamilton Southeastern’s boys team beat Henry Clay (Ky.) 15-5 in a Sunday game.
The Royals jumped out to a quick 8-2 lead by halftime and never looked back. Tony Cassiere went 9-2 at the face-off X and Ty DeSplinter scooped up six ground balls, leading Southeastern to several “make it, take it” situations in the first half. The attack of Cam Smith, Ryan Kemp, and EJ Reichart did a solid job riding, which forced the Blue Devils to fail 11 clears. Cam Smith was the Man of the Match with five goals, one assist, three caused turnovers, and three ground balls.
