With appreciation for a career well served, Fishers Fire Chief Steven Orusa congratulates and says farewell on behalf of the department to Lt. Phil Mellencamp after 22 years of service to the Fishers community.
Lt. Mellencamp began his career Jan. 3, 1997, and was promoted to Lieutenant in 2013. He is a well-decorated firefighter who was a member of the Hamilton County Hazmat Team and Hamilton County Technical Rescue Team. Lt. Mellencamp had an infectious sense of humor and made coming to work for those who served with him fun.
Lt. Mellencamp will retire to spend time with his wife and two sons while he figures out his next adventure. His brothers and sisters wish him well in his future endeavors with appreciation for what he has done for the department and the community for which he served.
