John Paul Dawson Waters, 25, who was a lifelong resident of Sheridan, passed away on February 7, 2019. He was born on August 12, 1993 to his loving parents Darryl and Janna (Stafford) Waters.
He always enjoyed working side jobs with his father Darryl and learning from him. He also looked forward to lifting weights with his dad. John Paul cherished his time he spent with his parents. He acquired his love of music from his mother Janna. John Paul and his parents always enjoyed playing music together and performed several different covers from an array of artists. His parents will always cherish the memory of John Paul playing his guitar. JP was an artist; he drew so many amazing pictures that his family friends looked forward to seeing.
When John Paul wasn’t hanging out with his friends, he also spent a lot of time with his sister Shanna. The two were very close and loved spending time together. John Paul cherished his family and friends.
He will be greatly missed by his parents Darryl and Janna (Stafford) Waters, Sheridan; and his loving sister Shanna Waters, Sheridan. John Paul was a proud uncle to his niece Erin and nephew Bryant Ervin. He is also survived by his grandmother Carol Christy, Sheridan; and grandparents James and Betty Stafford, New Orleans, La. John Paul also leaves behind his Uncle Darren Christy, Aunt Donna (Greg) Kisbaugh, Uncle Donald Lee Waters, three great-aunts Annie, Dottie and Paula, along with several nieces and nephews.
A private family service was held on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at Sheridan United Methodist Church. The Rev. Carol Fritz officiated the celebration of life. The Waters family would like to extend their gratitude to the outpouring of support from the Sheridan community during this difficult time.
