‘Hounds beat Bishop Dwenger; Mulloy reaches 1,000 points

Carmel won its regular-season finale on Friday, beating Bishop Dwenger 54-24 at the Eric Clark Activity Center.
The Class 4A No. 1 Greyhounds were in control from the beginning, scoring the first eight points of the game. Carmel led 10-4 after the first quarter, 23-9 at halftime and 31-12 after three periods.
Senior John Michael Mulloy made history, as he reached the 1,000-point mark in the third quarter. Mulloy scored 14 points to lead the Greyhounds. Jackson Jannsen added 11 points, including three 3-pointers, while Cole Brady and Andrew Owens each scored seven points.
Also scoring for Carmel were Ben Frische with six points, Connor Wemhoff with five, and Karsten Windlan and Brian Waddell with two each. Complete stats were unavailable at press time.
The ‘Hounds are 20-1 and will host Sectional 8 next week. Carmel drew a bye and will play the winner of Tuesday’s first-round game between Fishers and Anderson next Friday (March 1) in the semi-finals.
