The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) will install new flashers in the intersection of State Road 234 and Fortville Pike.
Construction is scheduled to begin late February.
The intersection is already equipped with a four-way stop and flashing red lights on top of the stop signs.
The new flashers also signaling the four-way stop will be installed above the middle of the intersection and will be ready by late spring.
No closures are expected at this time.
The flasher will make the intersection safer by supplementing the stop signs and giving drivers additional warnings to stop.
The Federal Highway Administration says the flashers have proved to reduce speeds on the roads and reduce crashes in the intersection.
