Noblesville battled its way to a win at Fort Wayne Northrop on Saturday, by the score of 56-50.
The Millers led 15-13 after the first quarter, with Zack Johnson scoring eight points and Jordan Schmidt chipping in five. The Bruins came back to lead 24-22 at halftime, but Noblesville grabbed the lead back in the third quarter, which ended with the Millers leading 38-36. Schmidt threw in three 3-pointers during the third.
In the fourth, Noblesville outscored Northrop 18-14. Johnson poured in nine points, giving him a total of 26 for the game. Schmidt finished with four 3-pointers and 16 points.
“It was a great team win tonight,” said Millers coach Brian McCauley. “After having a tough game last night on the road, we came back and beat a very good Fort Wayne Northrop team on their home floor. Our players showed a lot of mental and physical toughness. It was a great night for the Millers as our 9th, junior varsity and varsity teams won.”
Noblesville is 13-9 and will host Perry Meridian on Friday for its regular-season finale.
