Noblesville wants you to be part of Fourth of July festivities

Fireworks return to Forest Park . . .

The Noblesville Fourth of July Planning Committee is excited to announce several changes and ways for individuals, organizations and businesses to be a part of another fun and patriotic Fourth of July parade and fireworks festival. This year’s festivities consist of several changes, including location and extended event times.

The free Fireworks Festival, presented by IDI Composites, Inc., will take place at Forest Park. Construction transforming the intersection of Field Drive and Cumberland Road into a roundabout will close that area during the summer and caused the committee to look at an alternative site. Due to increased programming and amenities, the festival is expanding two hours and will last from 4 to 10 p.m. The grand finale of the day will be the fireworks display at 10 p.m. Viewing will be available throughout the park.

Ditslear

“Decades ago, fireworks were launched and watched at Forest Park so returning to that location will be a fond memory for those longtime Noblesville residents and a great new memory for new ones,” said Mayor John Ditslear. “The planning committee is working to incorporate park amenities with traditional festival activities and new, exciting opportunities.”

New this year, the committee has created areas with booth space inside the park to showcase our community. These opportunities are available for local artists, merchants, businesses and nonprofits. Forms are available now at NoblesvilleFireworksFestival.com.

Interested in volunteering? With the size and changes made this year, organizers are in need of more volunteers than previous years. Organizations can earn in-kind trade of discounted rates for facility rentals. Organizations volunteering with at least 10 volunteers and reaching 20 hours of service can earn a free four-hour court or shelter rental redeemable Monday through Thursday, excluding tournament rentals and holidays. Individuals and families also are encouraged to participate if interested.

The only changes to the parade is the start time, which begins at 2:30 p.m. The route will be 16th Street to Logan Street; Logan to Ninth Street; Ninth to Monument Street; and Monument to 16th Street.

This year’s theme is “Stars & Stripes Forever in Noblesville.” Entry forms for those interested in participating in the parade are available at NoblesvilleFireworksFestival.com.

More details about the festivities will be announced in the future.
