Eligible applicants for the initial round of the Next Level Trails grant program have until Feb. 15 to apply through the DNR.
Grants will invest $90 million in state funding to help develop regionally and locally significant trails across Indiana. Announced by Gov. Eric J. Holcomb in December 2018, the Next Level Trails grant program is the largest infusion of state trail funding in Indiana’s history.
Eligible applicants include units of government or 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations. Applicants should be the entity that would own, develop and/or manage the trail. The grant requires a minimum 20 percent project match, which can include monetary contributions, land value and in-kind donations of materials and labor.
