Carmel clinched a share of the Metropolitan Conference championship on Thursday by beating Lawrence North 67-60 in an away game.
The contest was tied at 12-12 after the first quarter, but the Class 4A No. 2 Greyhounds took a 28-22 lead at halftime. The second half was close, but Carmel scored 25 points in the fourth quarter to help it close the game out.
Karsten Windlan drained four 3-pointers on his way to 20 points. John Michael Mulloy added 13 points and Andrew Owens scored 12, including a pair of 3s. Luke Heady handed out six assists, and Peter Suder grabbed four rebounds.
The ‘Hounds are now 6-0 in the MIC, with one game left to play: Warren Central, who will visit Carmel on Feb. 15. The Greyhounds are 15-1 overall and will host Hamilton Southeastern next Friday, Feb. 8.
