Saturday will be Step 2 of the Indiana high school wrestling world’s road to state, as the regional tournament takes place that day.
Hamilton County wrestlers will be split among two regionals. Qualifiers out of the Frankfort sectional head west to North Montgomery, to take on qualifiers out of the Crawfordsville sectional. Meanwhile, the Elwood qualifiers participate in the Pendleton Heights regional, with qualifiers from the Arsenal Tech sectional also competing.
Each weight division has eight wrestlers, and the top four advance to the New Castle semi-state – one win and you’re in.
Carmel will have the most athletes at the regional, as the Greyhounds advanced all 14 out of Frankfort to North Montgomery. Fishers and Westfield both qualified 10 to the regional, with Hamilton Southeastern advancing nine and Sheridan one. Here’s a school-by-school look at each wrestler and his first-round opponent.
