Carmel Young Republicans had the first distribution day for their blanket drive on Monday. They donated 40 blankets to the Wheeler Mission at Traders Point. The blanket drive was started by Carmel High School Young Republicans President Chris Elmore.
The blanket collection for the homeless will continue until Feb. 23 at several locations in the Hamilton County and Indianapolis areas, including: The Jane Pauley Community Health Center (Indianapolis), Student Impact of Westfield, Donatello’s in Carmel, Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, Hamilton County GOP Headquarters in Westfield, Westfield Washington Public Library, Butler Auto Collision Center, FC Tucker Company, Schwartz Bait and Tackle, Cicero Library, the Hamilton County Courthouse and Burgerhaus.
On Tuesday, Carmel Young Republicans were invited to Carmel Mayor Jim Brainard’s home with Carmel City Councilor Ron Carter to discuss their ideas for the future of the city.
