Huskies upset rival Tipton

Hamilton Heights scored a big win over an old rival Friday night, upsetting Class 2A No. 3 Tipton 74-64 on the road.
With the victory, the Huskies clinched second place in the Hoosier Conference East division. Heights is 3-1 in the East, behind only unbeaten (4-0) Northwestern.
The Huskies started the game strong, leading 19-4 after the first quarter. Heights threw in five 3-pointers during the period, with Brent Pennington making two of them. The Blue Devils cut that lead to 30-20 by halftime, but three 3s from Issiac Hickok helped send the Huskies up 49-35 after three quarters.
Tipton scored 29 points in the fourth quarter, but Heights scored 25. Gus Etchison took over in the fourth, scoring 11 points. He would lead the Huskies with 23 points, four rebounds, four assists and two blocked shots.
Three other Heights players reached double figures: Pennington and AJ Field each scored 14, and Hickok finished with 12. Hickok and Pennington both collected eight rebounds, while Hudson Hochstedler handed out eight assists. Pennington dished out four assists.
The Huskies are 10-5 and play at Frankton on Thursday.
