Carmel’s Sydney Remble paints the town

Carmel High School senior Sydney Remble created the winning design for a new mural inside the lobby of the new MJ Insurance building in Midtown Carmel.

Remble and her team of fellow art students under the direction of teacher Drew Murray worked for 25 hours to take her design – first sketched on paper with charcoal – and paint it on the huge wall of the lobby.

Patrick Chittenden, a principal and owner of Ambrose Property Group, the builders of this magnificent building, presented Sydney with a $2,000 scholarship along with $500 scholarships for each of the students on her team.

The mural, Carmel Through the Ages, depicts familiar Carmel iconic images embedded in the trunk of a tree.
