Commissioner Steve Dillinger to lay out Hamilton County’s top priorities in 2019 . . .
Hamilton County Commissioner Steve Dillinger will give his annual State of the County address on Wednesday, Jan. 23 at the Embassy Suites in Noblesville.
Dillinger will offer updates on projects launched in 2018 like construction on the Lowe’s Way expansion project, a massive solar panel installation and the expansion of the Hamilton County Jail. However, his speech will focus primarily on planned construction of county highways and roads – namely the reconstruction of State Road 37 through Fishers and Noblesville.
“It feels like we’ve been talking about some of these projects for decades, and we probably have,” Dillinger said. “It takes a long time to design and finance them. But this is the year the rubber hits the road. This project is by far the most important county road project since the installation of 146th Street in terms of the impact it will have on the lives of the people who live in these areas.”
The project will allow motorists to drive the two-and-a-quarter mile stretch of State Road 37 between Interstate 69 and 146th Street without a single stoplight or stop sign. Preliminary construction has already begun. Work on the 126th and 146th Street intersections is scheduled to begin this fall. The county will also tackle major projects at the intersection of 146th Street and Allisonville Road and Pleasant Street this year.
The State of the County is hosted by the Noblesville Chamber of Commerce. More than 250 city and county dignitaries, business leaders and residents are expected to attend. The event is scheduled to start at 11:30 a.m. and end at 1 p.m. Doors open at 11 a.m. The cost is $24 for chamber members and $27 for non-members. Table sponsorships range from $225 to $300.
