Heights Winter Homecoming set for Saturday

Students and staff at Hamilton Heights are participating in a week of spirit-filled activities leading up to Saturday’s Homecoming game. Pixar is this year’s overall Homecoming theme. Seniors are Monsters, Inc.; Juniors, Incredibles; Sophomores, Finding Nemo; and Freshman have selected UP.

Today is College Day. Also today, inspirational speaker, Jason Harmon, Your Life Speaks, returns to Heights with a special message on life choices. The last period of the day will feature six rounds of a Minute to Win It competition.

Friday is Orange and White Day where everyone can show their Husky pride. A pep session to rally excitement for Saturday’s game begins at 2 p.m. where the Winter Homecoming Court will be introduced. The annual Winter Homecoming Dance will take place in the Media Center from 8 to 11 p.m. Advance tickets are $10 per person and $15 at the door.

The Hamilton Heights High School football team has organized its first annual HCC Cornhole Tournament set for 3 to 6 p.m. on Saturday in the upper west gym of the high school. In addition to the tournament action, there will be pizza, drinks and baked items available for purchase.

The Huskies take on the Sheridan Blackhawks beginning with the junior varsity game at 6 p.m. Varsity halftime festivities begin with High School Student Government honoring alumni from the classes of 1969, 1979, 1989, 1999 and 2009. The introduction of the 2019 Winter Homecoming Court and official crowning of the Homecoming King and Queen will conclude the break.
