HAND Inc. has selected three community-improvement projects in Hamilton County to receive $500 in seed funding as part of our Neighborhoods NOW initiative.
The three winning proposals were from:
- River Run Homeowners Association in Noblesville, which will use the funds to develop a community garden
- Greater Home Place Neighborhood Association, which is planning a neighborhood cleanup day for September
- SERVE Noblesville, which will use the funds to purchase project supplies for its summer volunteer blitz
Made possible by a grant from Old National Bank Foundation, the seed funding is intended to help foster collaboration and build capacity in Hamilton County neighborhoods. HAND staff and volunteers also will assist recipients with project planning, outreach and implementation.
The Neighborhoods NOW program, launched in 2014, encourages local residents to improve their communities.
HAND works to ensure that Hamilton County remains livable, with homes that are affordable for all residents. Since 2003, HAND has invested nearly $17 million in housing here.
In addition to developing and owning six properties that provide a total of 96 affordable apartments, HAND helps low-income homeowners make critical repairs to their homes.
