Pendleton District Commander promoted to Captain

Indiana State Police Superintendent Doug Carter recently announced that Pendleton District Commander Tony Delello had been promoted to the rank of Captain to oversee enforcement operations at the Putnamville, Indianapolis and Pendleton Districts. Delello had served as District Lieutenant at Pendleton since May 2017.

Delello

A Hamilton County native, Captain Delello graduated from Carmel High School in 1989, then Indiana State University in 1994 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. He began his career with the Indiana State Police in 1995, graduating from the academy in December of that year. He was first assigned to the Lowell District, then transferred to the Pendleton District in 1997 where he was assigned to Hancock County as a road trooper.

Delello was promoted to the Central SWAT team in 1997, where he served as a trooper until 2008 when he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant of the Central SWAT Team. Delello was then promoted to Lieutenant in May 2017 and served as the Pendleton District Commander until his recent promotion to Captain.

Captain Delello and his family reside in Hancock County.
