Sheridan’s girls dropped a 43-35 game at Western on Tuesday.
The Panthers led 16-9 after the first quarter, but the Blackhawks stormed back in the second period to lead 26-24 at halftime. Western held Sheridan to two points in the third quarter, then pulled away in the fourth.
Allie Delph and Taylor Bates both scored nine points for the ‘Hawks. Sheridan totaled 38 rebounds, with Olivia Raines grabbing 10, Holly Barker seven, Jillian O’Flaherty and Delph six each, and Heather Barker five. Delph also made four steals.
Sheridan is 7-5 and returns to Hoosier Heartland Conference action on Friday with a 6 p.m. game against Clinton Prairie, part of a girl-boy doubleheader at Hobbs Memorial Hall.
