Huskies beat Western, are 2-0 in HC East division

Hamilton Heights took control in the third quarter of its Hoosier Conference East game with Western Friday night, and turned it into a 48-45 win at the Huskies’ gym.
Heights led 11-10 after the first quarter, but the Panthers jumped ahead 23-19 by halftime. The Huskies turned it around in the third with 18 points, including two 3-pointers each from Issiac Hickok and AJ Field. Hickok had already made two 3s in the first quarter. Heights led 37-35 after three, and held on in the fourth quarter.
Hickok led the Huskies with 14 points and four 3-pointers. Gus Etchison and AJ Field both added 13 points, with Field hitting three 3s. Etchison and Cory Vonfeldt both had two. Heights totaled 11 3-pointers in all.
Etchison also pulled five rebounds and handed out four assists, while Hudson Hochstedler dished out five assists.
Hamilton Heights is now 2-0 in the Hoosier Conference East and 5-2 overall. The Huskies will travel to Noblesville tonight for a 7:30 p.m. game.
