Westfield scored a nice Hoosier Crossroads Conference win over Avon, 55-47 on Tuesday at The Rock.
The Shamrocks led 19-14 after the first quarter, with Regan Dimond hitting two 3-pointers. The Orioles closed to within one during the second period, but a basket off a steal from Jade Shipley kept Westfield ahead 24-21 at halftime.
The ‘Rocks led 34-29 after three quarters, then poured in 21 points in the fourth. Alyssa Crockett scored 17 points and pulled eight rebounds, while Shipley added 13 points and dished out four assists. Gigi Eldredge collected five rebounds and also handed out five assists. Crockett hit two 3-pointers.
Westfield is now 2-2 in HCC play and 9-4 overall. The Shamrocks play another conference game Saturday afternoon at Noblesville.
