The Carmel and Noblesville wrestling teams were among the competitors at the Westfield Shamrock Duals on Saturday.
The Greyhounds went 4-1, beating Princeton 80-0, Ben Davis 67-12, Zionsville 57-15 and Crown Point 45-20. Carmel narrowly lost to Roncalli 29-27. Six Greyhound wrestlers finished the day 5-0: Suhas Chundi (106 and 113 pounds), Kyle Holman (132), Gabe Davin (152), Logan Hart (170 and 182), Cameron Bacon (182 and 195) and Jack Heldt (220).
The Millers finished eighth at the tournament, going 2-3 as a team. Justin Johnson Sparks went 5-0 on the day.
“It was great to see our kids compete in such a tough tournament,” said Noblesville coach Michael Weimer. “The boys competed hard and every NHS wrestler gave maximum effort and fight on the mat. I was very proud of how our team supported each other in every match contested today.”
