University won its first game of the season on Saturday, beating Indianapolis Northwest Homeschool Warriors 69-45 at the U Center.
The Trailblazers outscored the Warriors in each quarter, leading 34-23 at halftime. University then cruised through the third period, outscoring the Warriors 20-8.
Nate Shatkowski scored 14 points to lead the ‘Blazers, followed by Joe Martin’s 13 points and Max Greenamoyer’s 12. Sam Mervis pulled 10 rebounds, with Martin grabbing seven and Shatkowski corralling five. Mervis also dished out seven assists, with Martin and Greenamoyer each handing out four.
University is 1-1 and plays Seton Catholic next Friday at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in a girl-boy doubleheader. That will also mark the first Pioneer Conference game of the season for the Trailblazers.
