Huskies swimmers open season at Oak Hill

Rachel Sanqunetti (above) and Ryleigh Poe (below) both won two events for Hamilton Heights at the Huskies’ first swim meet of the season Monday at Oak Hill.

The Hamilton Heights girls swim team opened its season on Monday with a dual meet at Oak Hill.
While the host Eagles won the meet with a score of 103-82, Huskies coach Sue Beale said her team had a great meet, with veteran swimmers Rachel Sanqunetti, Ryleigh Poe and Tara Holder leading the way. Sanqunetti and Poe both won two events; with Sanqunetti claiming the 200 freestyle and backstroke, and Poe taking the 500 free and butterfly.
Holder won the 100 free, placed second in the 50 free and swam on the medley relay. Emily Lester also swam on the medley relay, and finished second in the individual medley and breaststroke.
Freshman Kennedy Weaver took third in the IM and breaststroke. Heights’ 200 free relay team of Alaina Stohler, Kat Cox, Weaver and Mady Hutcherson finished second.
The Huskies girls host Lebanon on Thursday for their first home meet of the season.
