Robert Jackson Owens, 90, Noblesville, went to be with the Lord on November 9, 2018. He was born on June 29, 1928 to Cecil and Ruby Jackson Owens in Farmland, Ind.
Bob was a 1946 graduate of Farmland High School. He played in the Randolph County sectional championship his senior year. He was a member of the all-sectional and Muncie regional teams and the Lions Club Silver Anniversary District basketball team. Bob graduated from Indiana University in 1951, then moved to Hagerstown where he joined his father in the insurance, finance and real estate business. They celebrated 50 years of service in 2001.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Beachler and brother-in-law, Paul Beachler.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Mary Carolyn; sons, Dave (Mary) and Mike (Mika); and grandsons, Jake and Drew.
Family and friends will gather at noon on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at the Hagerstown Congregational Christian Church, of which he was a member, and where the funeral service will begin at 1 p.m.
