Featuring the high-octane tricks, backstabbing drama and heart-pumping music of the world of competitive cheerleading, BRING IT ON: THE MUSICAL tells the story of what happens when Campbell, cheer captain at affluent Truman High School, is redistricted to Jackson High, the school from the wrong side of the tracks, where she faces not just reduced social status but no cheer squad. Campbell must convince Danielle, the leader of Jackson’s hip-hop dance troupe, to start a cheerleading squad. But with the help of new friends, Campbell learns that there are things that may be more important than cheerleading.

The production brings together over 100 Fishers High School students in the cast, crew and pit orchestra. The cast includes Emily Legg as Campbell, Luke Kraft as Steven, Kate Michael as Skylar, Jenna Pyle as Bridget, Sam Durnell as Kylar, Millie Obungu as Danielle, Madelynn Ayen as Eva, Sean Garrison as Randall, Carl Tensmeyer as La Cienega, Kayla Wilkerson as Nautica, Isaiah Cheatham as Twig and Saber Agnew as Cameron.

The set is designed by technical director Andy Smith and built by his FHS Technical Theatre classes. Annie Wolfert, an FHS alumna and current Ball State Musical Theatre major, does the choreography, FHS theatre teacher Jon Colby directs the production, Debi Pratcher is the vocal director assisted by FHS choir director Tess Tazioli and FHS band teacher Charles Kunz is the pit orchestra conductor.

BRING IT ON: THE MUSICAL played on Broadway in 2012 with an original story by Tony Award winner Jeff Whitty (Avenue Q), music and lyrics by Tony Award-winning composer Lin-Manuel Miranda (In the Heights), music by Pulitzer and Tony Award-winning composer Tom Kitt (Next to Normal) and lyrics by Amanda Green (High Fidelity) and was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Musical.
