Gary Fammartino to retire from St. Vincent

Gary Fammartino, President of St. Vincent Fishers and Carmel Hospitals, will retire on Jan. 1, 2019, after working in the healthcare industry for more than 35 years. Gary joined St. Vincent in 2001 and has held a number of key administrative roles including Senior Vice President of Operations and Senior Vice President of Ambulatory Outpatient Services, St. Vincent Indianapolis. Prior to his current role, Gary served as leader of St. Vincent Fishers and leader of St. Vincent Clay, Dunn, Jennings and Salem Hospitals.

In 2013, Gary led the team that successfully created and opened St. Vincent Fishers. During this time, he recruited more than 20 physicians across a number of specialties and oversaw the hiring of more than 250 associates. As St. Vincent System Executive of Ambulatory and Outpatient Services, Gary also led the successful implementation of the state’s first freestanding emergency department along with a comprehensive outpatient services in the St. Vincent Fishers and Northeast Region markets.

Prior to joining St. Vincent, Gary served as Executive Director, Clinical Support Services at Naples Community Hospital and North Collier Hospital in Naples, Fla., and Executive Director at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio.
