The Trustee plays an integral role in Fishers helping and assisting residents with critical needs.

As Fishers Deputy Mayor Leah McGrath said:
“Debbie is one of the most dedicated individuals I know in serving her community. She is constantly looking for new ways to bring people together and to help those in most need. Delaware Township is lucky to have had Debbie leading as Trustee and I look forward to her continued leadership for Fishers.”
As Fishers continues to grow and lead the way as the ‘number one city in America’ (according to Money Magazine), the Township Trustee’s office must remain proactive and align goals to fit the growing population.
I have laid out a three point vision and plan leading into the next four years.
- Technology: As the township plans for the future, investments must be made to keep up with technology demands. It’s crucial that collaboration takes place across community organizations, public service and the Township Trustee’s office to have the best outcomes for residents in need.
- The Nickel Plate Trail: The planned Nickel Plate Trail will run directly alongside the Township Trustee Government Center. With that comes increased foot traffic and a need for more parking. An actionable plan is ready to address challenges that will come with the trail.
- No More Secrets Campaign: In 2018, my team and I launched the ‘No More Secrets’ Campaign in Fishers. This campaign brings light to sexual abuse in children, and provides training to those that work closest with children. This campaign will continue to grow, and will soon launch statewide.
I have embraced the ever-changing needs of resident in Fishers. In 1992, I opened Delaware Township’s first food pantry, and then went on to build the Government Center and Community Center. Under my leadership, the township was recently named the ‘2018 Township of the Year’ by the Indiana Township Association. I was also named ‘Trustee of the Year’ in 2004 by the Indiana Township Association.
My number one goal has always been to serve residents with the utmost integrity and success. I hope to continue to be your Delaware Township Trustee for many years to come.
