Host University advanced to the semi-finals of Class 1A Sectional 58 on Thursday, sweeping Traders Point Christian 25-12, 25-20, 25-9.
Stella Behforouz led the Trailblazers in kills. University is now 16-7 for the season and will play Bethesda Christian on Saturday in the second semi-final, following the first semi-final between International and Indiana School for the Deaf. Semi-final play begins at 11 a.m.
At 3A Sectional 27 at Crispus Attucks, Guerin Catholic defeated Cardinal Ritter in four sets, 25-14, 25-21, 22-25, 25-21.
The Golden Eagles are 13-13 and will play the host Tigers in Saturday’ second semi-final. Brebeuf Jesuit and Bishop Chatard play the first semi-final, starting at 10 a.m.
Sheridan will play a semi-final match at 2A Sectional 40 at Lapel Saturday, taking on Frankton in the second semi-final. Alexandria and Lapel will play the first semi-final, beginning at 11 a.m.
