Hamilton Heights cruised into the final of its own Class 2A Sectional 24 by beating Delta 11-1 in a Thursday semi-final game.
The Huskies got on the board in the ninth minute when Elaina Page scored off an assist by Katy Beery. The goals came fast and furious after that, with Maria Mitchell getting the second one, then Berry scored the third goal off a Page assist, all within three minutes of the first goal.
Delta scored its lone goal with exactly 20 minutes left in the half. Heights added three more before halftime: Jenna Peterson scored from a Madison Nickel assist, Page added her second goal, then assisted Emily Stirn for the Huskies’ sixth goal.
In the second half, Page got her third goal a minute-and-a-half in, with Makenna Trew making the assist. Caitlin Hartwick scored in the game’s 53rd minute, then Stirn put in her second goal with 10:02 left in the half. Hartwick added her second goal about a minute later, then Kyndall Ferguson finished up the scoring with a goal at the 5:38 mark.
“I thought we played well,” said Heights coach Travis Kauffman. “At this point in the season, you don’t want to hold anything back and we’ve talked a lot about that this week. Between whistle to whistle, we want to play hard, we want to play clean. We’ve talked about playing our game for the full 80 minutes, regardless of who we’re playing, what kind of style they play, and I thought we did that.”
Heights is now 13-6 for the season and will play Yorktown on Saturday afternoon for the championship.

Carmel beat Class 3A Sectional 10 host Guerin Catholic 1-0 on Thursday to advance to the championship game there.
The No. 4-ranked Greyhounds scored their goal in the game’s 55th minute. Emily Speidel made a long pass to the head of forward Kelsie James, who nodded the ball to Emma Antoine for the goal.
Erin Baker had two goalkeeper saves for Carmel, while Bailey Cappella made five saves for the No. 19-ranked Golden Eagles.
The ‘Hounds will play Zionsville for the Sectional 10 title on Saturday. The Eagles beat Westfield 2-0 in Thursday’s second semi-final game.
