The Noblesville boys soccer team ran its win streak to five games on Tuesday, and the Millers did that by scoring a big upset.
Noblesville beat Class 3A No. 2 Hamilton Southeastern 1-0 in a Hoosier Crossroads Conference game at the Royals’ field. The Millers got their goal in the first half, when Tommy Gregory sent a low cross into the box, and Sam Johnson slid it into the net. Noblesville then held off HSE in the second half.
“We played really well,” said Millers coach Ken Dollaske. “Every single guy came to play, whether it was a person who played for 80 minutes or a kid that played for five minutes. They knew their role. They knew how we could beat them. Sometimes it wasn’t pretty, but our goal was. We played it wide. Tommy had a great run, Sam just had a great finish.”
The victory puts the Millers at 3-3 in conference play and 9-5-1 overall. Noblesville has one more HCC game left in the season: The Millers host Brownsburg on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Southeastern finished HCC play 5-1-1. The Royals will be second in the conference, with Zionsville winning the HCC championship with a 6-1 record. Southeastern completed its regular season 11-2-2 overall and will host Anderson Monday in the first round of Sectional 8 play.

Alex Cline scored one of the Greyhounds’ goals, and assisted on the other goal, which was scored by Gavin Buba.
“I am proud of the effort the team had tonight,” said Carmel coach Shane Schmidt. “I thought we played well in the second half. Our movement off the ball was good tonight.”
The Greyhounds are 5-2-8 and play at Columbus North on Friday.
