The Noblesville boys soccer team celebrated Senior Night on Thursday with a huge win over Class 3A No. 18 Lawrence Central, 3-1.
“It was great,” said Millers coach Ken Dollaske, who saw his team win its fourth straight game. “We were clicking. I would say it was great for Senior Night. Our 10 seniors were really amped up for the game. We started all 10 of them. Considering it wasn’t a normal starting lineup, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. They came out, brought the energy and everybody who came off the bench really fed off of that.”
The Bears scored the game’s first goal off a corner kick with 14:56 left in the first half. But the Millers answered a minute-and-a-half later, when freshman Spencer Holland kicked the ball into the goal from 10 yards out. That made the score 1-1, and that’s what it would be at halftime.
“Our response was great,” said Dollaske.
Holland got Noblesville into the lead five minutes into the second half with his second goal of the game. The Millers scored their third goal in the game’s 55th minute when senior Tommy Gregory put it in from about six yards.
With the win, Noblesville improves to 8-5-1 for the season. The Millers play at 3A No. 4 Hamilton Southeastern Tuesday in a Hoosier Crossroads Conference game.

Carmel, ranked No. 15 in 3A, beat Cathedral 1-0 on Thursday.
Senior Sam Hildebrand scored the Greyhounds’ goal, with junior Drew Finkam making the assist. Senior goalkeeper Brody Sullivan recorded the shutout.
“I am proud of the effort the team played with tonight,” said Carmel coach Shane Schmidt. “We worked hard to preserve the shutout. Now we need to prepare for the defending MIC champions on Saturday.”
The defending champion is Ben Davis, and the Greyhounds will play there on Saturday. Carmel’s record is 4-1-8.

Sheridan fell to Eastern 3-0 on Thursday.
The Blackhawks played solid defense in the first half, allowing the Comets one goal before halftime. Eastern then scored two more goals in the second half. Sheridan’s goalkeeper Nick Roberts made 28 saves under the Comets’ attack.
The ‘Hawks will host Western Boone Saturday morning.
