The Nickel Plate Express will run during Atlanta’s New Earth Festival this weekend.

On Thursday afternoon, Nickel Plate Express Communications Coordinator Dagny Zupin told The Reporter that repairs have been completed and everything is ready for the community to enjoy riding the rails at this year’s New Earth Festival.

Tickets will be $15 for adults and children. All excursions will both board and de-board in downtown Atlanta. The schedule for Earth Festival rides on the Nickel Plate Express are as follows:

  • Saturday, Sept. 22: 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.
  • Sunday, Sept. 23: 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

According to Nickel Plate Express Executive Director Deanna Holt, “Nickel Plate Express is excited to be part of Atlanta’s New Earth Festival this year! Next year we will identify safe boarding locations in Cicero and Arcadia so we can provide shuttle service to and from the festival.”

Tickets are now available online at nickelplateexpress.com. You will also have the opportunity to purchase tickets at the New Earth Festival at the Nickel Plate Express booth in downtown Atlanta.
